anyone knows how to playback pvr video on pc?

i'm using a sonicview 360 satellite pvr. it saves the file in .ts (transport stream) format, VLC player is suppose to able to play it but it isn't working for me.

i tried total video player, and it seems to give an error "tvp.exe wrong file version" and then it'll play the video. however, i couldn't do anything else with it (like using the bar move the video forward or back)

maybe it is because i'm running vista 64? anyone?

Generally, if VLC can't play it, it's not worth playing.

but yeah. i got no idea. i should go to bed.

wrong forum but try opening it in GSpot Codec Information and it will try and detect what codec you need to play the file properly or moreso what file it really is if the extension is wrong.

thanks for the tips.

incidently, gspot and mplayer failed to open them, but i remember my wife's pc have vegas pro on it, and it worked..... i guess i'll use it to convert the video to .avi

i can now distribute international shows... lol....
