Anyone know why my Northwood 1.8A runs @ 1.6 volts, no matter what setting?

I recently went into my bios to explore why I can't seem to hit 2.4 GHz. It turns out that no matter what I set the Vcore to in my Asus P4B266, it runs @ around 1.6 V (1.6-1.62) ... It doesn't matter if it's set to 1.5V or 1.7 ... I wonder if it is a power supply issue; I have the 300W power supply that comes with the Enlight 7237 case. I have lots of IDE devices/pci cards hooked up to the machine. However, it was fine for my old P3 and all these components. Is my power supply limiting me? It could be something else because even @ 1.5 Volts in the bios, it runs @ 1.6! Anyone have a problem like this?

My machine:

P4 1.8A @ 2.25
256 MB Crucial PC2100 @ 333 MHz
300W PS
etc (see my rig)

hmm i am having the same problem w/ my 1.8A it seems to only be able to do 2.2

this is using rambus i850 setup (aka TH7II)

it stays at 1.55 - 1.57 volts all thet ime

I've got the same problem.
1.5 - 1.7 will result in 1.6 to 1.62 no matter what. From 1.725 o 1.775 will result in 1.65.

I am sure that if can truly get 1.725 my 1.8 and 1.6 will ro 2.4 GHZ

Is there problem with ASUS CPU vcore controls?
