Anyone know why Brazil is rated R?

Now that is one strange movie. I once liked it a lot, but in hindsight I'm wondering what it was that I liked so much about it.

SFW? are you showing it to board members or something? I can't think of any movies I've ever watched at work except those produced by our company about ethics etc.

I own the Criterion 3 DVD set of this film, it's one of my favorites... 🙂

Make sure you get the real director's cut of the film, the studio chopped Gilliam's balls off for the normal release of it.

I work at the front counter in a campus computer lab, and we're allowed to watch movies in the summer because it's so slow.

We (my work) have the 3 DVD set as well. We also house my school's audiovisual collection.

There is one short love scene, I can't remember if there is any nudity. The R is mostly due to the violence. Really cool movie. The documentary in the 3 disc set is almost as good as the movie itself.
