Anyone know where to get Enermax or Panaflo Fans in Canada ?

There's an article on Bigfoot Computers now that says that they now have Panaflow fans.
Check out the article partway down the opening page. I didn't see prices yet cause they're just getting them, but email them and you'll probably get some info. Good luck.

Yep, I too embarked on a search for a panaflo L1a in Canada. Only place right now is Bigfoot in Toronto. But get this: they sell them for C$20 each for 80mm and higher versions. This is without tails. A Panaflo tail will cost $3 more. A 80mm to 60mm adapter costs $20 too!

Tweakbox.com sold Panaflos, but their online store is closed, last time I checked. Might be open now.

whoa there, $20 a fan! If you're after the 80mm L1A's go to BGMICRO.com, it cost me ~$55 CDN for 10 fans incl. shipping and tax. They have the 2-pin tail but that's no big deal, you just have to clip the little that protrudes so that it fits with a 3-pin connector. If you need a 4-pin connector, just use a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter from case-mod.com they're cheap and so is shipping. Actually, if you're interested in a small number of 80mm panaflo L1As PM me, I have a few extras (no extra 3-to-4-pin adapters though, sorry).

The easiest way to do it is to just have a friend or relative order them and ship them up here. But, since you might be able to do that, Borderfree.com is your friend.

Unfortunately, from what I gather from their site, borderfree no longer offers the kind of service you are referring to, for individuals anyways 🙁

Yeah man!!! Damn, bigfootcomputers is a rip, they overcharge everything.

Go to www.canadacomputers.com

I'm not sure if they have them on the website, but they have thermaltake fans, 80mm with 3 pin connectors and a converter too, all for 10 bucks CND a piece. Much nicer price than bigfoots panaflos. I have yet to try this one out, but if you want I could let you know.

the specs are as fallows;

2900 rpm
37 cfm
30 dB

I'm not a fan expert but it sounds okay to me, you could always run it off of 7 volts to get it super quiet, but I don't know how much CFMage you're looking for.

If bigfoot has then in stock I'll eat my monitor.

>$20 a fan!

no they are $21.95 meaning that the 120mm would brobably close to $30, imagine that Frozencpu has them for $11 that's a %50 difference from the u.s.d. price.

Bigfoot so 3x120mm=$90 + 1 80mm=$22 total=$112+tax= $127Cdn.
Frozencpu 3x120mm=$45 + 1 80mm=$11 total=$56 U.S.D.= $88.91Cdn. so if shipping and tax comes out to $38.09 or lower I'll be ahead.

and besides I'm going to be ordering enermax fans with it.

screw this, I'm buying from frozencpu.

thanks all.

check out Case Mod it's owned by a fellow AT'er, I've ordered from there before (to Canada) and the shipping cost is reasonnable. Also, the prices on his website seem to be slightly lower than the ones you quoted (although he doesn't have any Enermax fans).

I too recommend BIGFOOT.. They have a good product line and I know they carry those fans. I am going there this weekend actually!!! 😀😀😀

hahaha

I recommend active surplus on Queen street. They don't have panaflo's, but they have plenty of 80mm 12V DC fans .. 🙂

>BIGFOOT.. They have a good product line and I know they carry those fans.

are you saying that they have enermax adjustable fans ? it's not in the online store.

>I am going there this weekend actually

if they have actual Panaflo's in stock I'll be very surprised. They've been known to mistyriously sell out stock in record times. You call them up and they have plenty but once you get there it's all gone. yea right.

>I order mine from Pham Computer,

I went to see there and they don't have either Panaflo's or Enermax fans.

>You're gonna spend 127 dollars on FANS?

I want 4 quiet fans do you have any other suggestions. Even if I would buy sunon or ystech it would still come out nearly the same give or take $10. So we get gouged to death and legally robbed on computer components in Canada compared to the U.S. what else is new it's been like this for years.

Dude, if you follow my link (Case-Mod.com) you'll see that you can get:
- 3 x 120 mm Delta fans (85 CFM, 34 dBA)
- 1 x 80mm Panaflo H1a (39.6 CFM, 32 dBA)
-----------------------------------
Total: ~$23 US

Shipping was $7 US on my order which had some bigger (and heavier) pieces in it than that

that's $30US = $50 CAN + 15% tax = $58 CDN

unless you really want to spend an extra $70...

*edit * for quietness 120mm fans are rarely quieter than 30 DbA (Panaflo L series), they're more expensive and harder to find you usually have to cough up about $15-$20 apiece whether in the US or canada
- for a quiet 80mm fan Panaflo L1As are $2.49 apiece at BGmicro.com + a few bucks shipping (like I said, I have a few spare so PM me if you don't want to bother with bgmicro)

Active Surplus rocks! What other store you know has a gorilla suit out front and sells old Commodore games alongside bulletproof glass? 🙂

Actually, it's a good place to pick up rubber washers, grommets, electrical tape and screws. They have ADDA fans, which are pretty quiet (but low cfm). Also, to the right of the fan section in the basement, you
can pick up plastic split loom for 15 cents each. I picked up two to wrap IDE cable up. Now THAT'S a deal.

I didn't realize until later that I could have bought Panaflos at bgmicro, paid any hefty shipping costs, and probably still be ahead of if I went to buy them at Bigfoot.
But everything like electronics in Canada costs a lot. Honestly, a plastic 60mm to 80mm adapter doesn't cost $20 to make.

Aww, now the guilt is settling in. Geez guys, why didn't you post a thread like this one month earlier? 🙁
