Anyone know where to find replacement ends for front panel wires?

Booty

Hopefully I'm desrcibing these well enough - I've ran into a few cases that had a 3-pin end on the wire (empty in the middle), but the motherboard only had 2 pins, or vice versa... or in this case, and HP that we need to replace the motherboard in that has all the wires going into one big end.

Just hoping I can find somewhere that carries these... anyone know of anywhere?

Any one of those particular vendors that you would recommend? I'll start browsing 'em...

edit: Oh, and if anyone knows part numbers right off hand, that'd save me some time, but otherwise I'm sure I'll find 'em eventually.

I've used them all with good results. Some of them have minimum order amounts with a fee if you don't make the minimum. Of the ones I listed, I'm pretty sure that allelec. and cyberguys don't have minimums. Sorry, I've never bought those. I have a lot of junk around here with those ends on them so I just cut and splice...

Don't know what they are called, but your best bet is to mod your own. For a 3pin with blank center (typical power LED) you can move one pin to the center and cut off the extra bit. You can remove pins without damaging the plastic by using a pin/needle and prying up the tiny plastic "finger" that holds the pin in, while at the same time pulling it out. Almost need three hands for that one. 😀

If you seriously need more of these and can't find them, try asking at your local computer stores. They may have old junk cases that they can yank stuff out of. Failing that, I've got a bunch of junk cases that I can yank these things out of, just PM me.

They are called header connector shells and contacts, 0.1" spacing. On allelectronics, they are under the Connector, Multi-pin section.
