Anyone know where to find a desk like this one for less than 500 bucks

I know someone who has a desk that is two filling cabinets for legs, and a door on top of them. The door handle hole makes a good place to route cords 😉

It didn't cost him very much 😛

Mine is a Formica top anchored to the wall with a small cabinet in the middle. Looks very custom in my small office, and cost me about $50.

That's pretty manly.

I got a "free" 30"x72" oak table top from World Market (aka Cost Plus) when they were throwing it out, legs are broken. Used a filing cabinet and 2 speakers for legs. Table was about $499 when I visited the store middle of 1991.

Pic - same as in sig.... 😉

That's a lot of computers. No space for your legs to go 🙁

EDIT: I also have one of those cases, cept made by Antec. Good sturdy cases, albeit heavy.

From Ikea, got it for $60 CAN and it's 1.6m x 0.8m. Fake wood with metal, but I'm cheap. They have birch models for about $200 as noted above.

Holy crap, that would be about a day job for me to make - and they want a grand for it?

I guess it is walnut, but still. I guess that's the price you pay for not knowing how to build stuff yourself (or having the tools either I suppose).

My desk is solid maple and I built it myself. I would have went with Oak, but I built it while I was in college and moving every semester, so I didn't want a super-heavy desk since it's rather large.
