Where did you hear that? I would say that if you don't plan to play any games, the GF2MX400, GF4MX440 or Radeon 7500 would do fine.

Amazingly, Pricewatch only has 2 listings for the MX460, and neither one is an MSI ...

a 440 is basically a underclocked 460, when you look for a geforce4mx, be sure to get DDR and 128bit memory bus

what is 128bit memory bus? also, this doesn't seem right. a 64mb mx440 sells at 50 bux, and i see a 128mb mx440 sells at only 60bucks. hmm..10dollar can make a big differents?

I'd give the GF4 MX a miss because it's only a DX7 video card and it's showing it's age badly with recent games. A better buy would be a Geforce3 Ti200 or better still the regular Geforce3 or Geforce3 Ti500. If you can stretch to abit more money then a Geforce4 Ti4200 is THE budget video card to own right now.

their are 128bit memory bus and 64bit memory bus g4mx, the higher the bit, the better the bandwidth. i dont think that 128mb will make much of a differance on a mx, but the 128bit + ddr will help it greatly

He already said hes a non gamer and as such I'd recommend a low end Matrox ar ATI for their superior 2D.

hey is this GeForce3 TI200 any good?

Yes any Geforce3 would be better then the geforce4 MX because they have
direct X8 support. The MX line of cards only support Direct X7 (less features)
If you are really a non gamer then the MX440 would be a better value then the
MX460 its quite a bit less expensive. Stay away from the MX420 though as it's
performance is very poor.

plz explain why 128mb doesn't make any different? Isn't the first thing that you look for in a v.card is how much the capacity of mb it holds?

The short answer is that 2D applications don't use that much memory so even 32MB would be fine.
Its 3D that uses the most memory, and even the newer games don't use more then 64MB unless
you are playing at very high resolution with AA and FSAA turned up, which you are not going to want to
do on a budget card anyway. :D

See this link for a better explanation.
