Anyone know where I can get a spent AT4 or M72A1 rocket launcher tube?

I'm toying with the idea of making a custom airsoft launcher out of an AT4 or M72A1; I found an AT4, but the guy wants $275 for it..I did find one that went for $140, but I missed it by nine months..lol

I don't want one that has been disabled (firing mechanism removed/damaged, holes cut in it, etc) - I want to do something similar to this..

So..if anybody has a local surplus place that has one kicking around, I'd love to know about it 🙂
 
No help on finding one, but be careful what you do with it. They found one in Springfield, VA, near a Metro station and shut down the line for hours, deployed EOD and the whole bit. I've also read reports of other incidents, and people being jacked up by law enforcement because they had one in the car (empty). With the terrorism threat, and law enforcement being very keen on preventing anything from happening, you might want to consider the implications of carrying one around.

Just something you may not have considered. You could always paint it pink or something. 🙂

Thanks for the tip - however, I do have several full-size replicas at the moment - that's what gun cases and vehicle trunks are for. 😉

Cost Finally, you may ask... how much would it cost to build one myself? So here is the figure. The de-milled AT-4 tube cost me $400 shipped, and they are getting rarer every day so expect the price to go further up. I've been searching for 2 years and I have only been able to find two (update: Just found another 3 units at slightly under $400 each, but I?ve recently heard reports of $200 units).

Yes, I know. I found one for $275 that I can get now..I'm waiting for a price back on another, and I've seen them cheaper than that. I'm not the type to jump on the first one I catch - there's usually a better deal somewhere 🙂

Also, I've only been searching for a couple of days. 😛

It's a pain in the ass to demilitarize stuff but you have to be persistent and keep checking; sometimes for months.

I found a National Stock Number NSN: 1315-01-245-4950 I don't know how accurate that is now, but the first four numbers are the Federal Supply Code or FSC. The rest of the numbers are the NIIN. The FSC for rockets is 1340 according to the surplus site, so I'd keep trying to find a current NSN to help your search.
