Anyone know where I can get a 256kb bios chip? Need one for Xbox!

My roommate was messing around with his Xbox today and decided to flash his bios. Well, it didn't go so good. While he was erasing the bios his Xbox froze and now the chip is dead.

He needs a 256kb bios before the xbox will work again. We've tried Radio Shack but haven't come up with anything. Anyone know where we can find something that will work?

couldn't you find a dead xbox for cheap and salvage the part you need? what about one of those xbox forums XBox Scene

What chip was he using? I'm not sure where to get the 256kb bios that'll fit in with the xbox. It might be easier just to reprogram the chip.

You can head on over to the xbox-scene forums and go to the mod-chip installer section. Get someone to reprogram it for you. Might end up being cheaper then getting a new chip that'll fit the xbox.

This guy named smokeingit is supposedly the best there is. Great guy too. Look for a thread he started.

Jeez, why didn't he just do it with the slayers install. Great for people who are newer (presumably) to modding.

What does Slayers have to do with any of this? Instead of paying for a Modchip, he decided to do a Tsop flash (I think) if that is the case try here for fix. You will have to buy a Matrix chip though, dont pay more than $25 for one!
