Anyone know what this hose is called? (Car-Related)

Go easy on me, I am a car-dummy.

I have a 90 VW Jetta. I believe it is a vacuum hose. It is right on top of the engine and goes from a circular "thing" on the valve cover to what I believe is the fuel injection setup. The end of the hose on the FI side is smaller then the end on the other side. I thought it would have been something common. Hell, it is just rubber hose. But Napa, nor Shucks carries it. I am thinking I need to go to the dealer for it.

Any help would be great!

It's a vacuum hose. The round thingy is a PCV valve. Go back to Napa. They might not have been able to identify it because VW vacuum line has a cloth reinforcement around it, but standard diameter vacuum line works just fine.

Alright the round thing is a PCV valve..cool, thanks man!

Yeah I was 99% sure that it was a vacuum hose (don't know what the hell else it could have been).

I took the hose to Napa, he said they have nothing that would work. Kind of amazing if you ask me.

You don't REALLY (😉) need the PCV line. Just cork off the vacuum side at the throttle body and leave it at that. Put a crankcase vent (One of them chrome jobbies on there) on it and you are done.

Otherwise, you need the line or have to jerry rig it to work.

FYI: NAPA's are independently owned and operated. This is why many towns have many NAPA's. HIS NAPA is ignorant about foreign cars. When I worked at a garage, it was often the only place we could get maintainence parts for odd ball BMW's, Volvos, Mercedes, Daihatsus.... NAPA, in general, is NOT ignorant.

That makes sense, I have been to other Napa's who really knew there stuff when it came to VWs.
