Cloverfield looks pretty lame to me, doubt I will see it in the theater. Even the trailers looks retarded.

The new trailer I saw on tv yesterday actually has a half second shot of the monster walking in between buildings....can't see that much but I'm sure some fanboy has dissected it to the nth degree on some other site.

that right there tells me we will never see the monster or only small bits and pieces of it.

The acting looks horrible. I haven't seen one scene in a preview that made me believe I was watching something real.

I saw the big promo cardboard poster in my local theater last week, and it showed the city from just behind the Statue of Liberty. There were huge claw marks on her, a trail in the water that something stirred up, and huge claw marks on the buildings leading into the city.

From the first time I saw the preview (quite a while ago now) I was thinking Godzilla.

It's an alien creature from the future and Kirk and Spock are going back in time and being written and directed by. J.J. Abrams and they will never find out what the alien really is.

They showed a leaked picture of the toy for the Monster, and it looks incredibly lame. It looks exactly like you'd assume a slapped together monster for a movie would look.

If it was just Cthulu, I would see the movie. Then again, anyone who saw the movie would lose their sanity... hmmm, tough choice.

Chthulu was the worst monster Lovecraft ever came up with. He even admitted later that it was terribly done.

I think the camera work will probably just piss me off, so I dont think i'll be going to see it. I hated blair witch with a passion because of that first person crap.

It's a monster movie.

monster attacks NYC
eats peoples

In real life the monster would attack and New Yorkers would eat it. Poor thing wouldnt know what hit it.

in some states they would have a sit down with the monster to try and figure out what childhood trauma is causing him to have so much pent up rage

On IMDB it states that the director specifically said it's a monster movie, and that it's an original construct, and not Godzilla.
