I used ACDSee 3.0 for quite sometime with no problem. But today I got an error and can't use it any more. The error message is popped up as a message window, descriptions as follows:
< The instruction at "0x00432c0f" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "read".>
I uninstalled ACDSee, then reinstall it. Once it run it, same problem and error message again. Anyone know what is this about?
I am using win2k, Duron600@648, kingston pc100 Ram, 256(two sticks).
Could it be a ram problem? is there a software I can test the integrety of my ram? Presently, no further damage made. I scanned for virus, no found.

I don't think that your problem is ram related. Ram usually don't start giving random errors after some time. Do you have any problems with other programs? Especially high demand programs like 3d games etc. Since you are overclocking you might want´to bumb the speed down to see if it fixes the problem.

Have you installed any software/updates recently? Your program is likely dependant on a system dll that was overwritten by an update or corrupted somehow, but likely not your ram.

You tried going back to an older version, then upgrading back to 3.0?
I know it sounds wierd but it's worked for me quite a number of times.

ACESee still doesn't work. Now it comes to my photoshop, same problem. I did some heavy duty graphic editting lately, is it because of that? I don't know why. BTW, I lowered my cpu to default state.
The overwritten thing is likely, I did a update to my scanner but failed halfway. Now I can't even uninstall the scanner automatically. I am trying mannually. But hard to know which dll or other file has been overwirtten.

The easiest way maybe to repair your win2k, just boot up with your CD and you will have some repair options.
