anyone know of some fun games for the ps1?

Hmm, let's take a look at my collection, here's a selection of the best:

RPGs:
FF8 & 9: since you like FF7 you'll also like FF8 and 9.
Grandia: one of the best rpgs for the psx, very recommended
Legend of Dragoon: good rpg with great (psx)graphics
Lunar Silver Star Stories: good rpg, very traditional though
Breath of Fire IV: good rpg

Fighting games:
Tekken 3: a must have
Dead or Alive: not as good as DOA2 (haven't tried 3 yet as X-Box will first be out in Europe in March) but still one of the best fighters for psx.
StreetFighter ALpha 3: or any other SF game, they're all alike.

Metal Gear Solid
Aerofighters
er... don't even remember what else i used to play on PS1.

Castelvania: Symphony of the Night (my #1 favorite game ever - side scrolling, creepy, beautiful... and uses RPG elements like HP, MP, different armors and weapons, and levelling up stats)

bishi bashi special (all series) - awsome party game
advance v.g 2 - interesting anime fighting game
art truck battle - weird truck racing/painting game
beatmania (all series)
azure dreams - cool rpg with dating sim
bust a groove - dancing sim
bushido blade 1& 2
conveni special - run your own 7-11
every day is a cat day- pet sim
k1 grand prix 98 - the best in the series... train your kick boxer from the start to the end of the career...
lord of fist - interesting fighting game
lovely pop 2in 1 - awsome anime mahjong game
monster rancher 2
