Anyone know of software that will record every file that is placed on the drive, every registry entry, everything possible from an installation program ?

I need to install some software, but I need to see where everything gets placed, and every change that it does to my system.

just wondering if its possible.

check warez and cracking sites since violating trial period limits is the most common use of that kind of software.

Yes, I can see how that could be a possibility...

I would be using this software in a lab environment. I need to see what changes are done to the registry and what files are being placed where to document what happens when certain software is installed. Before any software can be installed into our corporate environment we have to test it on the desktops / laptops / servers that they are being installed on. Currently we have a problem with certain software preventing our auto config script for IE6 working correctly, and we need to see what is being changed when this software is installed...

But yeah, I can see how this could be questionable software if in the wrong hands...

Most uninstallers will do this. Like Cleansweep. It will keep track of all changes and modifications done during the install process. You can open up a log that details this information.
