Anyone know of any 2.1 speakers with headphone AND mic inputs?

Hey all.

I know this may belong in the peripherals forum, but there is so little activity in there I figured having more eyes look at it here would be better.

Anyone know of any 2.1 speakers that have both headphone and mic jacks?

Nvm, the second jack on the Promedia's is not in fact a mic jack, it is a miniplug input or whatever.

** At least OrooOroo was trying to be helpful, he obviously didn't know the answer but offered what he perceived might have been a solution.

the question is how much quality is he willing to sacrifice for this feature. its like basing your car purchase on installed radio.

its just not a feature thats included in decent speakers for computers that i've seen.

where you sometimes see mic jacks is on some monitors that include speakers.

The speakers just have to be "ok" nothing amazing. Comparable to good 2.1 sets in the $50 price range.

I guess I could just get the G51's and only use 2 of the speakers, but that's a waste of money.

Honestly, I'm just going to second buying the extension cables. My keyboard has mic/headphone ports and I NEVER use them because they introduce some line noise.

I'm not sure how you intend to use your speakers and mic and such, but I don't think a mic input is very common on speakers. Headphone outputs are much more common though.

Anyway, if you intend to just use one of those desktop mics, just buy an extension cable if it won't reach all the way to your soundcard.

If you're intending to use it with a headset to plug into both ports to game with or something, then take a look at this simple switch:

I bought one from newegg a while back, although they don't seem to have it anymore. I got it because my speakers didn't have a headphone output jack, so I plugged this into my soundcard instead, and plugged both the speakers and headset into it. Painless switching between the two.

So you want a mic jack on your speakers that has a cable coming out the back of the speakers that plugs into the mic jack on your pc?

Or do you want whatever is plugged into the mic jack to be able to play directly through the speakers? The only thing that can do that are stereo systems/boomboxes.
