I use an optical mouse but still have the Belkin, really like the wrist rest since I was beginning to get a little carpal tunnel in the wrist.

Can I get some more cloth notions about the belkin? And does anyone else like the plastics over the cloth? Which one?

get an everglide plastic mouse pad, i have heard it is the best for gaming because of its texture, if you do not have
an optical mouse

Yeah the belkin is cloth, but it seems a little different than normal cloth mousepads, a little harder perhaps. I don't know how it would work with a ball mouse, but with my optical it is incredibly smooth.

I still have yet to find a better mousepad than the one I recieved when RoadRunner installed my cable modem. (its an ordinary cloth one, but I love it. I hate those "advanced mousepads" like ratpadz and the func surface. The mouse feels to slippery.)

I have the original MS Intellimouse Optical (it can be jumpy occasionally). I have tried many surfaces and have found nothing better than the 3M PMS. I guess that the tiny texture that's supposed to help with dirt and stuff gives the optical sensor something to track.
