Such as what? Value is a subjective term. The economy will improve if there is a big push for green tech because it will mean more jobs, items being purchased, etc. The more people agree with what has value, the more we gain by focusing energy and money into it. I think green tech is a pretty good outlet right now, regardless of whether it actually helps the environment. To me that is secondary to innovation and jobs. If there are other industries that will draw both mass public and business to them, I'm all for investing in those as well / instead.

I've always found it amusing that green is both the color that the eco groups have adopted for themselves as well as nuclear waste.

look at all the generators,pallets of cornflakes,survival food and bomb shelters the Y2K kooks got taken for. A lot of that stuff ended up in garage sales and ebay for pennies on the dollar. This will be the same.

Owning a car gives you an extra ton of CO2 (in addition to the CO2 produced by driving it)... as does going to the cinema/pub occasionally.

It was a great episode. We see what "science" goes into these carbon footprint calculations, who owned at least 2 of them, and whatnot. Sucks that I can't see their new episode tonight because we don't have showtime.

Edit: Nevermind. It wanted yearly mileage, not the mileage on the car. I produce 12.79 tonnes of CO2.

It depends on how carried away we get with it. There's such a thing as diminishing returns on an investment.
