Anyone know of a good cheap monochrome wifi enabled laser printer?

I'm ready to break down and get a printer that has built in wifi so I can stick it hidden somewhere in my house that isn't bound by a computer.

I'm looking for a monochrome laser printer that's cheap in cost but not quality and has integrated wifi and being able to refill the toner easily myself would be a huge plus.

I currently have a Samsung ML-2010 and it's the perfect wired printer, I'm basically looking for something like that with wifi.

I looked on Samsungs site but it doesn't look like they have any printers with wifi that are monochrome.

Oh, looking to keep it around $100.

why dont you use ethernet? if your trying not to be bound by a computer...

i have a crappy old Laserjet 5N, it works great still, and sits by itself in the living room... well not by itself i guess, the cable modem/router/switch are all right there too.

Then it's bound by a network cable.

I'm looking to stick it in an area of the house that it'd not be practical to run a network cable.

If you can't find the perfect printer, you can always put dd-wrt on a router and turn it into a wireless bridge.

cheaper and more versatile imo

get a cheap wrt54g whatever version + cheap samsung, only bad thing, you have to manully install driver on every compu

oh wait, you can't get a wrt54g, no usb... whatever the cheapest is

I haven't seen one on sale in a while but both DLink and LinkSys used too have wireless print servers. You could use your existing printer with one of those. If they aren't being made anymore, there should be some refurbs at some of the usual sources.

I just checked Tiger Direct - new =$90, refurb = $50

You can buy decent $100 ethernet laser printers at a local office store. I imagine the online prices are better. $100 at a local store will only get you a crappy wireless deskjet... *looks in the corner at non-functional printer* :|

I'm using one as my network printer at the moment. I have it set up wirelessly as well. It's fast, has a decent paper capacity and works well over wireless networks. It supports XP, Vista and Win7.

+1 Hardly a week goes by that a big box store doesn't have it on sale for $100. Usually one of the office stores but also best buy from time to time.
