I like dreamweaver for html/web creation on my windows pc; but don't want to fork over the money to buy it for my mac. Is there a good alternative?

Thanks!

Coda? It is well regarded, but I don't know what much about web development.

I second Coda, it's an excellent piece of software. IIRC it's currently $75.

Alternatively, you could use a free program like Aptana Studio 3 or TextWrangler. You could maybe use Eclipse, but I really don't care for it and was only using it for Android development because it had a WYSIWYG layout editor.

If you're used to Dreamweaver then you'll love Coda 2. I use Coda 2 mainly for its FTP/File management, but use Sublime Text 2 mostly for editing.

You can try sublime text 2 for free. It's really fast if you know all the short cuts.
