I'd be the Skype user..so would I really even have a number? I'm from inside the US, and they're inside the US as well. I know they have AT&T but that's all I know.

I looked around the Skype website to no avail. Oh woe is me.

dude....local call for them is a local call, long distance call for them is a long distance call.

they always use up minutes from their general allotment unless you are on their network (probably not in this case since only Verizon offers land line-cell in network calling)

if you are calling long distance, which is plausible since their geographic location changes so skype might not find the best local switchboard...it will cost them extra

AFAIK, Skype offers two kinds of "plans" -- "Skype Out" and "Skype In." For a small annual fee with "Skype Out," you can call phones in the US and Canada. For an extra fee with "Skype In," you will also be assigned a dial-able phone number so that other people can call you from their phones.

It's just another incoming call, they aren't charged a VOIP fee, international fee or other fee.

Remember you cannot call landlines or cell phones unless you pay for it either per minute or SkypeOut or SkypePro.
