Anyone know if this laptop has Brightview/Glossy screen?

At that price, I doubt it. That's normally an option when you purchase one. Oh here's an idea....why doubt you go to the Comcrap website and look it up?

🙂

Sorry if this is a threadjack, but what's so great about "brightview"? I was looking at some at BestBuy yesterday and they seemed annoyingly reflective. I don't think I'd like working on one of them.

Wife has it on her lappy and man does it suck in bright light. I try to take it out on the patio and even in the shade it has a nasty glare. Makes a nice mirror though. 😛

They look more expensive.

Brightview/Glossy displays have far greater contrast and are great for multimedia (such as movies and whatnot). As you've seen, they're best in dark rooms.

I just didn't think compaq made a 15.4" widescreen that was not glossy. I cant find any specs on this laptop anywhere

That looks like a Presario v5306... I just bought one... By default they don't have a brightscreen... and at that price, I don't think it will.......
