I suppose you could say that it was lost or stolen, and that you need it canceled or reissued to you. They're like checks, but backed by the government so you know it's good for the amount and won't bounce. If the issuing company/agency decides to cancel it then I'd assume it'd work like cancelling a check, it just wouldn't be paid to the person who cashes it, and they'd get screwed when they tried.

Try there, you'll have to go in to your PO tomorrow though.

Thanks Sphexi, i wonder if i could just say i'm having a dispute with the seller and want it canceled. Although there's a dispute the person isn't really a criminal and i wouldn't want them to get into trouble when they go to the PO.

I doubt they'd get into trouble. Simply say that it was stolen/lost and you need to have it reissued, they'll trace it and if it hasn't been cashed yet, then they'll reissue it to you, and when that person goes to cash it they'll have a nasty surprise, and sucks to be them.

I sell money orders everyday at work. On the bottom of your MO, there is an 800 number you can call. There is an automated operator to help you. You can trace or cancel your MO from that point on. PM me if you need further help...i have an agent phone number I can call if you don't get anywhere.
