I'm trying to edit out commercials and stuff from my AVI of the Enterprise premiere.

Is there a way to cut out sections of a clip I dont need in premeiere? I want to get rid of the commercials, and render the whole clip w/o any. Also, since the premeire was done in widescreen format, is there a way I can have it render at 352 x 184, but trim the top and bottom of the clip, rather than vertically scale the clip?

Thanks!

Yeah... should be the razor blade tool. And you should be able to set the resolution custom in the clip properties.
It has been a while for me and I don't have it currently installed... I'll see if I can dig it up.

Let us know when you got it done ;)

I just got Premiere and the interface isn't real intuitive so far.

Adobe's Prem. is not easy! It has a LOT of extra options. I'd say it's semi profesional! Thats why a lot of things are not particular easy!

As far as sound sync goes... mhhh... any preoblem with the sound when you preview whatever changes you made? Remember (depending on your settings) you might have to expecialy tri just the Audio track!

Premiere is very intuitive...I picked it up almost instantly!

Yeah the razor is the quick and dirty way of doing it (which is all you really need for commercials). Just make a cut at the beginning and end of the commercials, drag that section out and delete it...then rejoin the rest to fill in the gap.
