anyone know how to superscript with MS Word 2003?

just use insert--reference--footnote.

if you want a footnote, hit alt+d. you'll see an option to make the font super or subscripted.

you can also customize your toolbars to insert super and sub script icons on your toolbars

Sounds like the complicated way - I just highlight the text, go to Format / Font and check Superscript. Done.
