anyone know how to setup YABB? please help

i cant seem to get it to work for some reason.

i log onto the admin account, but when i try to go to the admin area it kicks me out and says that i dont have permission to go there 🙁

I've never had a problem setting it up. I assume you've followed the installation instructions properly.

Another thing to try is download the .pl version (if you originally downloaded the .cgi version and vise versa) - some web severs are not configured to run certain file extensions.

my problem is basically i set it all up correct. but when i try to log into the admin account, i get logged in, but as soon as i try to go to the admin area, it says "an error has occured - you are not allowed to access this area" and then on the main page it says "Login - Register" meaning I'm not even logged in anymore. Any insight on what could be happening? My host runs a WinNT server, so I'm thinking its the CHMOD thing.

I can't chmod any of my files, WinNT is supposed to do it by itself... but it doesnt seem to be working.

I like Fuse Talk, much more easier to setup. But the trial version only works for like 20 posts or something so that kinda sucks 🙁

It certainly sounds like a permissions problem - I've never had a problem with it but I've only set it up on Linux boxes. Why don't you try posting on their support forum, alternatively you could always try Ikonboard which is another free message board (not tried it personally though).
