Moved into a new house. Tonight we notice a few bats hanging above the front door area. There's been alot of animal droppings outside our front door every morning and we've thought these were from the lizards that were hiding under the edges of the stucco walls.

Well since we now know it's from the bats, is their anyway to get rid of them?

Put up a bat house & maybe they'll move into it? I like having then around for bug control.

Those electronic things work for mice, maybe they work for bats too?

Setup bathouses for them, and if that doesn't work, consider yourself lucky. Bats rock, and they're very good to have around.

Buy a shot gun.

Fire off a couple of rounds.

Hire a contractor and glazier.

patch holes in the walls.

Eat bat pie.

find out what kind of bats they are. they are crazy aerial insectivores! i wish we have some bats around my neighborhood to control the bug population but we just have lots of dove pigeons and crows.

like everyone else says, try getting/building a bat house for them or find a way to relocate them. they are pretty harmless and good for the environment.

if you know that's bat doodoo then there must be a high insect concentration there. get rid of the bugs will get rid of the bats. do you leave the front light on? do you have lots of plants?

if you DO decide to buy a sound irritant. make sure it's in the high enough frequency, they hear up to 40khz so you won't be able to notice but they definitely will.

At night when the bats are out, block any opening above the door.
Other than that, leave them alone or get a bat house for them. I love having bats around.

yea bats are great but shitting all over the front porch is a bit much.

What kind of bats are they? You should collect the droppings and use them in your garden. Bat guano is one of the best forms of fertilizer available.

All you need is a tube of toothpaste, 2 rubberbands, a toothpick, a used band-aid, and a jar of pickles. Everybody knows that.

who really wants to clean up animal shit outside their front door everyday?

You'll want to make sure they're not roosting in your attic. That's something that you really don't want. If they're not, do the bat house thing.

Call batman...he'll lure them away with his batflute and batdance...

No, I wish I had bats at my house, but shitting in front of your door is pretty annoying.
