Anyone know how to connect to a password protected counterstrike server, command line?

I can never get my friends server to show up, no matter how often i do a full update, turn off the filters, 'add ip' etc. So i have to connect command line. The only problem is, its passowrd protected, and when i do
/connect servername
in console, it says 'wrong password' when it starts to connect. I've tried all sorts of stuff liek /connect servername password and /connect servername passowrd=passoword, but nothing works.

anyone konw the syntax?

You might tell your friend to make sure his server is sending a heartbeat to WON's master server. He might only be sending it to the gamespy master server, or not sending one at all.
