I'm going to be buying an XP processor soon for my new rig, and am wondering exactly when the 2100+ comes out. I'm looking to save a few bucks. I figure if it's soon enough, I'll wait it out. Any info is appreciated.
YOu likely could save afew bucks buy buying the right mobo and a lower 1800 or 1900 xp and boosting it a bit....
My gut feeling tells me the 2100+ xp is likley of the same yields of the 2000+ xp and will start to run into the ceiling of the end of the .18micron process...Since the 2000+ is still around 230 now the 2100+ likely will debut at 260 or above and not oc any real better then the lower chips....They liekly all hit the same ceiling...ie like the northwoods....1.6-2.2 all prety much can do 2.6 but not higher...all same batch...difference northwoods are new onto the .13 process and can get better...xp is old on the .18 micron process and since rumored thoroughbred will debut at 1.8ghz or equivalent 2200+ speed I doubt the 2100 will be much of a bargain in terms of amd athlon chips....
There is a reason amd is changing...right!!!!
Likely to be hot as hell....so get a decent hsf then....
