Anyone know anything about various soccer footware?

Hi all,

I love soccer and play it a lot. I finally decided that I wanted some high quality soccer boots, which I have never had before.

The problem is, that there isn't anywhere around here that sell high quality boots so I can't try them out. I have to order online or through a catalog.

I would like some info before I spend $150+, if you know what I mean.

I was looking at the "adidas Predator Mania TRX FG" and the "Puma Cellerator Shudoh GCi FG."

If anyone knows anything about these two boots, please let me know.

Or, if you have suggestions for other high quality ones, let me know as well

You probably heard this before.. but just get something that feels comfortable on you. Like any other footwear, it's personal preference. You want it to be as comfortable as possible, after all you'll be running in them for 90 minutes.

 

You play offense or defense? Strikers use the Predetor alot, as it has groves that "help" them to curve the ball. Defenders, like mysolf, usually go something like the Adidas Copa, as it offers strait kicks and max comfort.

And, as said above..its all about prefrence.

I played in midfield and loved my predators. They take a bit of getting used to, but once you're comfortable with them, you will always have the option of having those extra curvy kicks available to you. I don't know how many times I've had to curve a ball around a guy to get a decent pass through and the predators are great for that.

One of the guys on our team has some white predators and man it looks funny, but he loves them.

I alternate between Striker and Midfielder, depending on what is needed.

I have been working on my curve shot all summer and it is getting pretty decent (finally. I thought I would never get it down. But it just goes to show what practice will do (I have been practicing with a friend every night during the weeknights for 1-1/2 hours all summer, plus any pickup games I can get)). If the Predator would help out with it, that would be very cool .

I think I'll go with it. Now I just have to decide on a color. Blak, Red, Blue or White.

Probably go with Red or Black. Red is a little more outrageous
