Anyone know what core this is? Is this a good processor to buy? A good value against the $77 5400+ Brisbane?

Its is a brisbane. Note the 1mb l2 cache. Which should read 2x512. plus 65 nm.
here is a link to a windsor core for the same price. you will receive better performance due to the increased l2 cache 2x1mb.
plus there is a coupon code(not sure if still valid) for $10 off AMD10610

If you can find the k10 dual core , the Kuma based x2 go for it. I think its called x2 6500 @2.3 ghz 90++ watts (not sure). You can over clock that thing to 3.3 g's easy and it will kill any other x2 at that speed , even an x2 6000+ by some 40% to 60 %. :Q

Actually, you'd get the same performance, but alot more heat. Since the 65nm version is 100 Mhz faster, and going from 512KB to 1MB per core only gives a 75-100 Mhz advantage (depending on the game, some are much less), it would pretty much be a wash, except for the extra heat from the 90nm.

So you know how well a cpu that has not shipped a single unit to anyone is going to overclock, and how it is going to perform.
That's some amazing clairvoyance.
How much do you charge for predicting the sports bets or the stock market?

It's not impossible to make a guess about how this chip will perform or overclock. Just look at all the "be" processors out there, or the 4850e, the lower watt phenoms. And since this is still just a revision of the old school k8, it makes it even more predictable.

Here are few review of x2 6500
athlon X2 6500 (2.3 GHz) is completely capable to compete with Athlon X2 6000+ (3.0 GHz), and sometimes to exceed it by 10%.
AMD dual-core 6500 + detailed test
For now those are the only reviews I could find , but have a look it easly overclocks to 3.3 +++Ghz at that speed it will beat Brisbane at 3.5ghz.

May be no one in your knowledge or near to your place, but I have seen some ppl getting it near me , so ... ppl do buy these lol... also I think there was a thread at xtreme system forum about a guy in Finland who ordered this cpu but I have not followed what happened there..

I'd really like to know where "near you" is, since Kuma isn't a shipping product yet.
