I've tried the Gigabyte UD3R; DOA. Tried a UD3P, and it too is faulty. My old Gigabyte P965 S3 had data issues which is why I upgraded to the UD3's in the first place. Needless to say, I'm done with Gigabyte at this point. I got the UD3P from Fry's and they have the Asus P5QC there, but I really can't find any information about it. Is it a worthwhile motherboard? It says it's dual compatible with DDR2 and DDR3, so my DDR2 800 sticks should work fine? Pretty frustrated at the moment, I've wasted far too much time and money on this "simple" upgrade.
Also while I'm on the subject of RMA's, does anyone know if it's possible to get the CPU storage backplate somewhere? The grey clip on thing that prevents you from handling the contacts on the bottom of the CPU? I evidently tossed mine, and I'm giving serious thought to just RMAing the whole shebang at this point, but I can't send it back w/o that backplate on there so I was hoping someone might have an idea.
