Anyone know anything about PS2's?

Was offered one with BBA really cheap($53.xx) Its been taken apart but I'd say mainly to try and fix the problem its having. He said 1 out of 5 times you will have to put it in standby mode and turn it back on to get the DVD tray to go back in. Said he got it in a trade like that and was taken apart when he got it. Could it be the ribbon cable or something else? Says it reads DVD and CD games np and is a v5/v6.

Easy fix? Or just buy one fully working for $110/$150(used/new)?

If it was taken apart it might be that silver ribbon cable. Not sure if that would cause it to behave like that one is but I know they are easily damaged.

Says it only does it like 1 out of 5 times. Chances are it would have to be the botton or the ribbon right? Then again the guy he got it from could have atempted to mod it and messed the reset button up somehow.
