Anyone know anything about Plyometrics?

Looking to try some out today after my workout here in a few.

What's a good place to start? I know that I've read that you should'nt do any high impact plyometrics unless you have a solid base, so FWIW I can squat ~2xBW, deadlift ~2.5xBW, and bench ~1.5xBW or so.

My gym has literally ever size box one could use, step ups, pretty much anything, I've just never utilized them for anything other than places to sit between sets, lol.

I personally like doing box jumps. You can mix it up too: you can do some sets of jumps for height to work on that explosive jumping power, you can do some at a lower height for speed and foot response, you can do split jumps (like lunging), etc. Anything that makes you jump or bound on one or two legs will get the job done. You can use plyo's as a great cardio tool as well. Plyo's should help most with opening your hips, which is geared more toward jump height. To work on agility, you'd have to work more on foot speed and agility with drills specific to those.

You shouldn't do it all the time like most people do it once a week...phase it in and out, like 3-4 weeks at a time depending on how frequent you do the exercises. Most people do it every week for months on end...
