The Visual Communication Program at Northern Arizona University has a VERY good program, i knew many guys that went trhough it and would hire them in a heartbeat. Most of them have gone on to successful web development careers, one guy even does work with pixar already. The schools not that big so the type of attention and time you get at the machines is great, the teachers are farily knowledgable and will let you go in any direction you want really.
Whatever you do DONT go to the U of A. I recently met a professor from there who published his book on professional web design, yeah his take on things was "tables can be used for good layout design" and "flash sites can be good for business"

I believe that tables can be used for good layout, just a lot of people don't like dealing with them but for me they're a piece of cake... so I'll take a look at northern arizona university

so he's started this semester in the journalism school at usc (south carolina) majoring in visual communications, which will allow him to concentrate on whichever of those things he's most interested in in a couple years.. for now he's getting his general ed requirements in at considerably less expense, will make it easy to switch to something else if he changes his mind, and if after 2 years it looks like SCAD would be a better fit to finish up, we'll see if they think so too.

You better hope that stuff transfers, I'm at SCAD and alot of stuff is a pain to get transfered. It's a great school though. I love it!

I don't care as much about whether anything transfers as I do that he gets a good bunch of academics into him in addition to the art. I know it's a great school, though.. it's one of the ones my daughter is considering for grad school too (although florida state and NYU are higher on her list at the moment).
