They're terrible quality "get the job done and nothing else" cameras. The range is so-so (no where near the range they claim). I won't buy from them soley due to the fact that they flood the Internet with their popup ads.

Is that the brand that has all the annoying ad popups all over the Internet?

When X10 started it was cool. I have the IBM equivilent of X10... I got a few light modules, a remote, a motion sensor...etc. They are really fun, but X10 has taken too annoying of an advertising approach.

I'd like to get a set-up that I can monitor via the web while I am on business trips. Is X-10 good for this kind of thing?

Anyone one with one of those recievers for their wireless cams and some technical know-how can tune into your camera feed if they're close enough. Just FYI...

I honestly can't imagine buying any product that is advertised in such an annoying fashion. Obviously their ads are working, though, given the number of threads here about their products, and how many ATers seem to own their cameras.

If you have the cash, I'd recommend axis.com's Network camera, Check their site and you'll be impressed. Very expensive, but those are the ones people use for Live CAMS on the net.

Word of advice, they WILL SPAM YOU TO DEATH.

If you give x10 your e-mail address make sure to use a SPAM e-mail address (such as Yahoo or Hotmail).

Only way I'd buy anything from them is if I got lifetime parole from their %^&*ing ads.
Seems the quality isn't great and the range even less impressive, do yourself and the rest of the internet a favor and buy from someone else.
