anyone know about paallel port drivers

i have a laptop an the cdrom is a parallel port to the printer using 98se i have seached for new hardware but noughing ,

how do you get it to find the cdrom or get the software for this ???? truckman thanx for any help

You didn't really provide enough info. What company made your laptop? Was the CD-ROM drive original equipment from the laptop company or made by a 3rd party? Who made the CD-ROM drive? Aren't the drivers available from one of their web sites? Are you sure it is a parallel drive and not SCSI (some SCSI use the same 25-pin D connector)? When we find out some of that stuff, maybe we can help more.

try loading the floppy disk that came with your laptop and reloading (or loading) the CD Rom drivers. If you do not have it, get the documentation, if you have it and go to the website for the manufacturer and download/install the drivers, based on the identifying info on your laptop. It should reconfigure it back to the defaults that ran the CD when you first got it. If this is an add-on or upgrade, then check the website for instructions on download the correct drivers.
