Anyone know a good nub's guide to OC'ing?

I use this computer for music production and it works great for that, but I also do some gaming and although it isn't bad for that either, I do get a pretty big stutter on HL2 and it doesn't even do so well on BFVietnam with medium settings. I was going to get rid of the computer, but I've decided to wait and get an AMD rig sometime in '06 that I can use solely for gaming, once I'm out of college. In the meantime, I'd like to perhaps inch up the performance I'm getting out of this p4 560 (3600Mhz). Though it's known to run hot, mine seems to stay at a perfectly fine temperature, and I've also heard that they can be OC'd to 3.8 no problem. I just need to know how to do so. Advice?

big stutter? That pc should have no problems what so ever... Try this: download rivatuner, and use it to disable FastWrites. If that does nothing to stop the stuterring, enable it again. Other than that, i dont know how OC-Friendly the bios that comes in dells are, do you have options for FSB changing?
