Now that Will Ferrel is gone I definitely agree with you. JF always cracks up during sketches and that makes even the least funny ones instantly hilarious.

I think Chris Kattan, Horatio Sans, and Tracy Morgan are good too.

I appreciated the fact that his voice was so accurate, and I thought the word play was great.

I think SNL has a bright future if they start building SNL around Darryl Hammond. Hammond so far has been in mostly impersonation skits. I think he'll do well with novel characters.

Oooh, that's a tuff one. I would have to go with Ferral, though Hammond is damn funny. Morgan is pretty funny too IMHO.

The thing about Hammond though, is that he doesn't improvise much. I've seen his stand-up routine on Comedy Central and his late-night appearances, and he will recycle his impersonations verbatim. He is still talented but not as much as Farrell IMO, who improvised a lot. Jimmy Fallon could become the next Adam Sandler.

Hammond is an impersonation man, good, but not THAT good. I like fallon and Chris Kattan and Tracy Morgan and Horatio Sanz. I love the webcam skits, with Jarrett and Gobi and DJ Johnathan Feinstein, most things by any of them are funny.

IMHO this is the best casts they've had in years. this last season was really funny with not as many "dead" skits. They've got some pretty good writers going for them.

The best cast IMO was when Ferrel was in his first year. Back when they had David Spade and whatnot. I'm not big on the current cast... I stopped watching when Colin Quinn left. I'm sure Hammond's days are numbered now that Clinton is gone.
