Anyone into RC Trucks/Cars as a hobby?

Just wondering, I just got a new Traxxas T-Maxx yesterday and man that thing is crazy.

4x4 Truck that goes around 47 MPH!!

Here a link

T-Maxx

What kind of hobbies are others into?

I have had Losi XXCR, XXXCR, XXT, XXXT, XXNT, Associated TC3, and a Bolink dragster that I made using an old Tekin ESC that accepted up to 21 cells.

Well, we (me and a friend) made a huge pack of 21 cells, using some older Trinity 1700 cells and used a Trinity 12TDouble motor. We painted 2 lines on the road, 50ft apart, and used a stop watch. We got it up to 68mph, until it went a little out of range and literally launched off the road into a tree trunk and smashed the heck outta everything... We managed to salvage the ESC and the batteries, but everything else was demolished. 😀

Gotta RC10GT for my gas toy, 2 RC10 team cars, old plastic body grasshopper, couple of other old cars as well.

tried airplanes once.........that was an expensive and time consuming 30 second flight. Ill stick to the cars.

Wow! thats pretty impressive.

Hopefully I won't be having any crashes like that anytime soon.

I have an older Traxxas Nitro Stadium Rustler also but I pretty much beat the life out of it.

I posted this a while back (not the hood ornament 😉). It's a Serpent 705, I also have an HPI RS4 3 type SS (my first car). Probably gonna get the HPI R40 as the next car. As you can see, I'm an on road guy, I think off road is fun, to a certain extend, but when skills are required, on road baby!

I hear you on that, I'm pretty sure my next one will be on road. But for now off Road bashing is just simply a blast!

I always wanted an HPI (like an RS4), but never could decide if after the first week I'd enjoy it enough considering the cost. Also wanted an airplane, which I would enjoy more. If I had money to blow, I'd get one with a gas turbine (a real jet engine, not a ducted fan).

I have the original RS4, a Micro, a Hyper 7 PBS buggy, and a F201. Anyone race in CA?
I usually race at Revelation raceway (www.revrace.com). As soon as I fix my Serpent, I'll go out there again. I still have to change out the sleeve and piston on my HPI, too lazy. 😀

Oh hell's yeah.

I'm into cars and trucks, although if I had the money, I would get an airplane. I own a Traxxas Nitro 4-Tec, an Associated RC10TC3 pre-built (my brothers), and RC10TC3 team kit. I also own a Columbia MK5 5th scale car, 5 HP Zenoah engine strapped on it. I think I should mention how I destroyed 2 4-Tec's. First one, car just fell apart mid run going full speed. Second one (with all the extra's, carbon fibre, etc...) was crashed into a barrier at 50 mph. What happened was I was coming down my block at full speed, and the brake linkage broke. Now, I like at the last house on the block, and there is water after it. So I had the choice of going into the water (which would destroy everything), or steer towards someones driveway going 50, and hit there barrier. To make a long story short, only thing that was slavagable was the carbon fibre parts. I gave it to my cousin who also has a Nitro 4-Tec.

Yeah. I posted several cool links to nice jet and turbo prop plane pics and such on here a few weeks ago but can't seem to locate it.
This pic is cool w/ tons of jet lined up.

BTW, some of the turbines alone (w/out radio) are $3500 and up. Most use many (8?) digital servos as well. And you'd want a real good radio. I just can't image crashing one.
Someone this weekend at the local (non jet) fly in here was telling me about the biggest jet fly in the county was just a few weeks ago, near Metropolis, IL. That's not the same one is it?
He was talking about a nice twin jet DC10 and twin A-10. One was like 1/3 scale. He also mentioned a jet engine company that was building one that had thrust reversers, and had $50K in the plane, but went backrupt.

I have an old RC10 sittin' in my closet. Haven't used it in years but wanted to get back into it.

Of course, then I dropped 2k on a bike @@ ...

Hobbies are too expensive!
