Since I am married, I will throw this one up for my wonderful wife:

Wagner - Lohengrin

Surely this one has already been mentioned, but always a favorite:

Wagner - Ride of the Valkyries
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGU1P6lBW6Q

This is a gorgeous piece of music from Chopin:

Chopin - Rubinstein

I love the more haunting, dream-like pieces so here is:

Debussy - Clair de lune

And another one:

Saint-Saens - Danse Macabre

I could go on and on, but I'm going to stop here. One of my favorite classes in college though.

Anyway, what are your favorite pieces?

My brother was a child prodigy on the Piano and plays classical piano for a living , so I have heard just about every piece of "classical" piano music there is. Based on other recommendations in the thread, I'm going to assume that the discussion is not limited to piano music produced only during the "classical period." With that in mind, my favorite piece of piano music is, by far, Liszt's Un Sospiro. Marc-Andre Hamelin does a good job with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLHU2ES51uw.

What are your favorites and do you play any instruments!?

I played the trumpet for 20+ years and was at one time pretty good. First chair all state band in VA, played throughout college etc. Some of my favorite trumpet pieces are:

Neruda Trumpet Concerto - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50qvbcLBCuQ

Trumpet/fleugelhorn solo in part 2 of Lincolnshire Posey (Horkstow Grange): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nxaNJCfGCo
