Anyone interested in doing an NBA Fantasy league?

I've never really gotten into Fantasy leagues but I spent a Sunday watching football with friends, several who were in fantasy leagues, all day. At the end of the day, I was wishing I was in an NFL league. It sounds like fun.

Their set up is where you have head to head matchups and you start/bench players accordingly each week. I like that type of format much better than the one league I played in a few years ago where you have a certain amount of points (like a salary cap) that you can't go over. Well, being a newbie, I dropped my best QB since he had a bye week and figured I could pick him up for the next week. The only problem was his point total improved and I couldn't buy him back because he was worth more than what I could spend.

So anyway, I'd like to get involved with an NBA fantasy league with a live draft, start/bench players, etc. Is anyone planning on starting one? Or I could start one and get everyone's opinions on how to configure the league. I was checking out Yahoo's fantasy sports since it's free. I'm not big into playing for money, this is just more of a fun think to fool around with.

I'll be posting a thread with league info as soon as yahoo accepts sign ups. Last year there were 4-5 leagues and they were all pretty fun.

If anyone is interested in an "executive" league, PM me and I'll send info.

Entry is a $10 best buy gift card. 10 entries max. One team per member. Head to head scoring.
Winners of the regular season and playoffs split the pot ($50 each, chance of winning it all). Anyone who signs up and doesn't contribute to the pot has his team locked.

<edit>
sign ups started today apparently. Signing up now.

the draft order is random and goes 1-12, 12-1, and so forth... I did it last year and it's pretty fair.

Looks like it will be randomly decided just before draft.

Stark are you gonna be doing recaps for our executive league? that makes the league about 50x more fun.

I also wanted to post a few suggestion for this years rules.

- I think we should impose a limit on the # of games that each team can play each week. I just would like some way to avoid the cheesy method of people adding/dropping tons of players just to boost their teams' stats. If we limit to maybe 25 games played per week I think that might balance it? Is there a way to get yahoo to enforce this?

- We are having waivers right?

- No technical foul category please!!

- Oh and give me first round draft :)
