Has anyone had any problems installing this cooler in their gig x58-ud5. This is the one I am installing in my build, I read that they where a problem on some motherboards and would block 1or 2 memory slots

It's a beast. Idle temps,,

,, not sure what ambient is - but it can't be much less than the minimum value here.... Actually, it HAS to be warmer than 63F in the room. Just wild. Never seen a cooler with this kind of performance.

Here you can see how low the 140mm fan sits in between the cooling towers.... blowing directly on the heatpipes and mosfets.

RAM clearance issues is the deal breaker for me. Dominator GTs are too tall. :(

Like Tattare said, you can move the fan up if RAM clearance is an issue. I bought my RAM at the same time, so I made sure to get some that didn't have the crazy high heatsinks. This thing is a beast though. I got my i7 920 at 4.2GHz and can't get it to go past 68C with Prime95 running. However, if I had to buy a heatsink now, I'd probably get the Venomous X and just do a push/pull config with that. Good luck!!
