Define good? There are loads of free services that have limits (5 txt per day, 150 chars etc).....lycos iirc being one of them.

best thing ev4r (if you don't want all the stuff just get icq lite). sms for free. as many as you want

I would go with ICQ as well, easy to use (although you do have to sign up).
