I have a trip planned for the first weekend in June (3-5) and have been hearing about record flooding. Does anybody live there who could determine whether I should cancel the trip or not?

We are staying at the Double Tree across from the stadium and plan on attending a game and hanging out on Beale Street.

All the articles say the Stadium and Beale street are fine and Tourism is up like the water.

Mainly folks in low lying areas and outside protective levee system under water. By June 3 it should be back down to bank full.

Thanks man, appreciate it. I'll keep monitoring the situation.

It will have receded by then. The only places downtown that are flooded are Beale Street and the appropriately named Riverside. Downtown is on a bluff and is not in any danger. River has crested and now will start receding. I work right by it by the way, kinda crazy to see.

Is all of Beale under water? They said landmarks were safe.

Nope, only the western most end is under water where it dead ends. The historic part of Beale is uphill a good bit and under no danger. If the flood waters ever reach that part then all of downtown Memphis will be flooded.
