If you live in the area, and felt it (or not) fill out a report on their site. The map is kinda cool. linky

I am sure the data would be helpful for them since there hasen't been a good earthquake in IL for a while.

We don't live in CA or AK you know. There are not supposed to be earthquakes in Illinois. Well, unless they are 9.0+'s and move the Mississippi river a few miles away.

I felt something at about that time but it may have been this crashing through the window and a mortar shell blasting off on the sidewalk in front of my house.

Kinda odd, wondered what that was last night..... That same area has had 2 earthquakes about the same size in the past 150 years or so... it's rare, but it does happen.

4.5 in CA is small, 4.5 in other parts of the US is BIG, especially if the building codes arent set to consider earthquakes.

4.5 is enough to cumble a badly designed concrete house, or even a good one.

I would say its a good size quake in that region, probably the largest in the last 60-100 years. I am guessing here on that time.

I felt it in Bloomington, it woke me up and I was wondering wtf it was. I figured that is what is was. It wasn't the shaking that woke me up, it was stuff rattling in the house.

I didn't feel it, but I was in the basement. People upstairs in my house started shouting, apparently it was felt around here. (St. Charles, IL, 40ish miles west of chicago)
