I got a spot from a guy in Software who didn't know anyone with fast enough computers, but I gave it to a friend who wants the game a lot more than I do. Now i just have to find another for myself

I have it, and I have used my invite.

The game is fricken MASSIVE, with HUGE worlds and lots of vehicles guns, etc. The only downside is that the game isn't really personable. Its not like a 12 player CS match or whatever where you get to know everyone in the server. However this can easily be fixed by joining a good squad which works together.

I was in the closed beta, already used my invite though.

I dunno if its my connection or my pc (1ghz, 256mb with a ti4200/128mb), but the game is a lag-orgy for me. I'll probably uninstall it and stop betatesting.

I would say the bottleneck is your ram and then your CPU. I have an Athlon XP 2100+ w/ 512mb PC-133 and the game is relatively smooth, however my harddrive does run during the game, just not enough to make it unplayably choppy. With 256, your HDD is probably thrashing around like mad.

*edit - Oh and I also have a ti4200 128mb

Well, I got all patched and whatnot, but now I can't connect to any server. Everytime I login I get disconnected and it tells you "you have left the world"

Yea the servers are down quite a bit. Check the chat to see when the come back up.

in the hour or so i played it,it seemed to be like tribes w/o the jet pack..well at least i didnt get any type of jetpak.:/
i spent the majority of my time wandering aimlessly, completely lost.

I'm an open beta tester as of yesterday when I got my key and download. I haven't played it much yet though so I pretty much have no idea what to do in the game. Do open testers have an invite to use, or is that just for exclusive members?

this isnt the beta forum dont troubleshoot here.

The PS Beta staff is doing load testing on the servers, thats why they took down auraxis and are only letting us on one server, they are up to 4000+ players now. The trick is to get on an island that isnt heavily populated once you get online. Go to either of the islands that connect to Ikarus and you should be set. Had some great fighting on there last night.

I'm a beta tester for this game and have been for over a month. I downloaded it(actually 3 times due to patches/changes).

It's like the other guy said.. kind of like Tribes but without a jetpack. You can fly around in helicopters to get around though. I crave more action from my FPS games. I don't see myself playing this after the test is over. I barely play it now and it's free.

Heh heh, you said "easily" and "works together" regarding a MMFPS! Just kiddin' . I know what you mean. Just that finding, becoming part of or creating a squad with coherent strategy and "good" teamwork ethos is rarely done "easily" .
