What do you play?

I'm teaching myself Reason 2.0 and Cubase SX and how to play piano all at the same time. Its all good though, I'm having fun with it.

Edit: If I was as good at piano as I am at skin flute, I would be driving a bentley.

Classical piano 11 years training.

I also play a mean bass (slap/funk jazz, sometimes rock).

What do you spin? I tried the whole DJ thing but wasn't really into it. My old roommate had some turntables, and I learned to beatmatch, but could never get down the right time to bring in the next record.

Is there some special technique to train yourself to be able to play the piano with both hands (like a low octave and high octave at the same time) or does it just come with tons of practice?

I play with both hands (and toes, haha, j/k ;)), but only by ear. Unfortunately, I suck at reading music (just started learning), and can only read the treble (sp?) clef, so when I'm reading music I only play right-handed. :(

My instruments are piano, cornet, and acoustic guitar (haven't practiced the latter in a long time). If I could afford it, I would get a good-quality electric guitar (the acoustic sucks, isn't built very well, and is very limiting even to a newbie like me).

Lot's of practice. You need to gain limb/finger independence. Get yourself a technique book or something and play their exercises. If you want to rape your hands, pick up some Czerny books. That guy was a psycho.

I've played Classical Piano for 18 years, Guitar (acoustic and electric) for 14 years and Bass for 3 years. So yes, I'd consider myself a musician. :D

I play guitar and bass... I can read tablature :)

Actually, I do know some theory (tritones are the devil! :p). I consider my song writing ability pretty poor. I've been playing
since I was 16 (now 23) and have only a handful original pieces of music. I want to start doing some more writing but I've
been having a hard time getting motivated.

I spin trance, UK hard house, and NU NRG. Slowly moving into drum & bass but my collection of that kind of vinyl is getting off to a slow start. Once you get the beatmatching down, I taught myself how to pick when the next record comes in by trial and error. JUst put a new one on and try bringing it in at different points. It'll sound good or it'll sound like ass. Eventually you can pick up a new record and hear it once or twice and say "that'd be good after this record," but it takes a while for that to happen.

what labels do you like for uk hard house & nrg? tinrib used to be my fav, i got into stimulant djs, some nukleus (red & green label), and some others i can't remember now because my crate is 3000 miles away and i haven't spun in about 8 months. never thought someone else on the board would be into uk hh and nrg!

Mild piano skills. Sing bass in choir and got a I at solo contest lately. Play drumset in jazz band and snare in marching and concert band.
