I saw Korean drama the other day when our client got sentenced for running five massage parlours in Rockford. That was some classic drama, the emotions were strong.

:D

I was once dating a Korean girl that used to watch all those soap operas. Didn't understand a word but they seemed like American soap operas.

Korean dramas > Japanese dramas (only by a little) > Chinese dramas

my mom and my sister watch all the time..i only do when i've got nothing else to do. heh. I'll never understand why (most) Korean dramas are all so sad tho...like...sobbing crying tears sad.

OMFG. My parents watch entire series of these soaps all the time. It looks like it's always the same boy toy in the shows too. And their image quality is very cheap/disturbing.

We went snowboarding with a group of friends and while most guys and a few girls were manly movies like Matrix and stuff, these group of girls went upstairs to watch K-Drama. A few hours later they came back down in tears. I wanted to laugh.

Anyways, I watched My Girl last night (just one episode) and I wanted to watch the second one. Good thing self control kicked in unlike when I watch 24/Lost/Grey's Anatomy/House/TheOC where I just keep clicking on the next episode. But still, I found it amusing. Different caliber, but pretty good. I think I'll keep watching.

Definitely. Chinese dramas are WTFBBQ for me. I'm Chinese but I don't like them at all (probably cuz I'm not a fob).

it's called "dae jang geum" or "the great jang geum" (jang geum is her name.) i LOVE that one. 54 episodes, but SO good. lee young ae and ji jin hee are great.

i LOVE korean dramas. there aren't any out right on socal tv that i want to watch. i just finished watching "goong" (palace) and i cannot WAIT for that to go on dvd. LOVED it. i've missed so many episodes of the daily dramas there's no way i can catch up.

the ones we actually own:

- winter sonata
- stairway to heaven
- all in
- my name is kim sam soon
- sandglass
- full house
- phoenix

i want to buy dae jang geum but my bf HATES the period dramas, and at 54 episodes, it's REALLY expensive.

i want another good one to come out soon, i'm currently obsession-less. i still have "love letter" "wish upon a star" and "beautiful days" to watch, but they're not grabbing me like the others. i'm plodding through beautiful days right now, oi.

those are all good?

I started My Girl and My Name is Kim Sam Soon. My roommate has Full House, and a lot of others except most of them are being loaned out.. but I should have plenty to watch.

This is inaddition to finishing the last 2 episodes of Lost and most of House which I barely started...

What's with the men with long hair and feminine facial features?

Sometimes the guy is "prettier" than the women.

my roommate who was a korean international student summed up korean dramas like this:

1 girl - dying.
2 guys - 1 good, 1 bad.

or vice versa with 1 guy and 2 girls.

yeah. and it's oh so true!
