Took a trip to AC. On the way back, I noticed the sign read "Unpaid EZPass"

GREATTTTT ... I was in a rental so I held it up to the windshield unlike my car where it sits in a cradle. I had $28 to start with so it wasn't due to insufficient fund. Besides, I hit 2 tolls on my way to AC not to mention it worked coming back by the last one at the Whitman bridge didn't register!

Now what will happen? I'm sure they think I refused payment but I didnt really since the stupid EZPASS didnt work for some reason.

SunPass screws up all the time down here in FL. I've gone through before and it didn't read properly, so it buzzed. Never got anything in the mail.

The rental car company will get a notice and eventually it will make it's way to you. when you get it they will want like $25 plus the cost of the toll, flip over the form and there's a section on the back to fill out your ezpass account number, etc. Mail it back to them and they will subtract the cost of the toll from your account (no extra fine).

There is a high probability nothing will happen at all. If on the off chance they actually do try to fine you for it, you can easily refute the charge and they generally drop it if it's a first-time offense.

Do these highway passes (I have I-Pass for illinois) make beep noises when you pay, or do nothing?

I parked at Orlando International for 4 days ($10/day) and used my Sunpass to pay. I ended up getting charged $200. The customer service guy said that it happens all the time and that he had recently refunded someone $500.

I'd wait it out and see what happens...

even though i only drive I95 on occasion (probably 2-3 times/month right now).. for the love of god people, EZ-Pass is a no brainer. i've avoided lines so many times because of EZ-Pass. it's stupid NOT to use it.

I have ezpass.

it happens on occasion, when you get the fine, you just go to a website, put in the ezpass # to prove that you really do have it, and the fine is gone.
