Chase customer service said I'll get a bill in the mail and that I can pay off the bill with my debit card.

The person I usually talk to at the chase bank is on vacation and the other staff said they're not trained on how to use the Amazon visa.

Below is what my phone says, I'm just afraid of making a mistake, should I press "place your order"?

I'm afraid it's going to charge me for the whole $2090 and not $174 a month.
Uh, yes, it IS going to charge you the whole $2090, that's how credit cards work.

Seriously: YOU SHOULD NOT BE USING A CREDIT CARD
Do not buy this, suck it up and wait until you can save your money.
If this is where you're at, YOU SHOULD NOT BE USING A CREDIT CARD.

I donate plasma twice a week and I usually get $60 each donation.

That's $480 a month of spending money.
Err I thought the shortest safe interval is once a week? Red Cross only allow once every 28 days.

It will charge you the whole $2090 but you pay it back at the $174 a month or whatever you decide to pay (more is better). You should have signed up for Prime so you would have got the $250 credit and purchased a laptop during prime day and you may have gotten 10% cash back. I got the amazon visa card last year and used the $200 credit towards my $1000 Sony tv. I then paid it off when I got my first credit card bill. I also used my cash back towards the balance which helped.

How much will be charged to my credit card?

When you place your order, the total purchase amount will be charged to your credit card. The amount to pay each month will be on your statement.

You have to go to chase.com to make your payments. I have my checking account set up to make my payments. You can do this manually or automatically. If you do it manually use a calendar app on your phone or PC to remind you that your payment is due.

It is going to charge you the whole $2090 and then you'll pay that off monthly I assume. That's how credit cards generally work.

Honestly I think this is a terrible idea.

You should abort the order, go to microcenter and buy a refurbished dell workstation cash. ≤$300. You'll have a top gaming desktop circa 2004 using integrated graphics. Save some more for a decent gfx card, and you can upgrade to a top gaming desktop circa 2015.

That's whole blood, yeah? When you sell plasma, they run your blood through a machine that separates out the plasma and pumps what's left back into you.

Which effectively makes it a foregone conclusion that this was always how it was going to go, since it's OP. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the fallout I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I do worry about Gizmo. He's a nice guy and this feels predatory on the behalf of Amazon and the CC company.

'Octapharma Plasma' lets you donate twice in a 7 day period.
I doubt you know this, but companies don't act in your best interest, they only care about theirs. I am sure you signed some sort of waiver absorbing them of any resposibility.

28 day is for plasma. 56 for whole blood.
IDK, like I said, even 20+ years ago these places were letting you go in 4 times a month, wouldn't be surprised if they'd lobbied for change to increase profit margins.

Absolutely.
He wanted that CC and sought it out, how is that other people's fault?
The banker could have maybe taken pause at someone his age saying they couldn't figure out how to apply online and coming into a branch to do the application.

I mean, and no offence to Gizmo here, you shouldn't be giving out debt to people who don't understand how that debt works. Pretty sure over here he'd have a case to get it nullified.

He's not in a conservatorship like Lisbeth Salander. All ATOers said it was a bad idea. There is only so much we can do.

If you aren't and you haven't got a sudden new income stream what are you going to pay the CC off with every month?
